ABOUT ME

BEHIND THE LENS

"Its not until you lose everything that you are free to do anything..." - Chuck Palahniuk

Six years ago, I sat quietly on my living room floor furiously sifting through a box of old negatives and prints. Squinting at the hundreds of blurred, rejected images, I recalled how unsure I was about my ability and the ultimate decision to give up photography all together. The photos just weren't sharp enough, cool enough, worthy of posting on some ridiculous website. But in the days after my father's funeral, I found myself sitting on that cold floor clinging to every over exposed shot, every "mistake", all priceless moments with my dad caught at the end of my modest $20 camera.

In the years that followed, I found courage. I plyed my trade. With the support of an encouraging friend, I fell in love all over again. I shoot because I have to. I see you as you are and love you anyway. I fill the box.
